title: FAQ
description: Short answers to common questions about themes, brands, products, languages and uninstalling.
---

## Do I need to edit my theme's code?

No. You add VendorDeck's blocks in the theme editor, and the app never changes your theme's files.

## Which themes work?

Online Store 2.0 themes, like Dawn, Horizon and Shopify's other free themes, and paid themes built the same way. Vintage themes don't support app blocks.

## Can I use product types, tags or collections as brands?

No. Brands come from the **Vendor** field. Set your products' vendors with Shopify's bulk editor if they're empty.

## Does every brand get a page automatically?

No. Brands are added automatically, but you choose which ones get a page ([Brand pages](/brands/brand-pages)), up to your plan's limit. The directory lists brands without a page too, and links them to your store's collection of their products.

## How do I link to a brand from my menu?

In **Content > Menus**, add a menu item and pick the brand's page under **Pages**.

## How quickly do changes show on my store?

Brand pages, the carousel and the logo widget update within a few seconds of a save. The directory takes a minute or two, and new products up to 5 minutes.

## Why is a brand's product count higher than its page shows?

Counts include draft and archived products. Brand pages only list active products published to your Online Store.

## Do brand pages show prices in my customers' currency?

No. Brand pages show prices in your store's default currency.

## Can VendorDeck see my customers or orders?

No. It reads products, pages, themes, files and languages, nothing else ([Privacy and data](/help/privacy)).

## What happens if I uninstall VendorDeck?

- Your brand pages and the directory page stay in **Online Store > Pages**, but without the blocks they show almost nothing. To remove them, delete the brands in VendorDeck first, which deletes their pages, then delete the directory page.
- Logos and banners stay in **Content > Files**.
- VendorDeck keeps your brands and settings for 48 hours, so a reinstall brings them back, then deletes them for good.
